James Dyson Award ’19

Dyson is proud to announce that 2019 entries for the famed James Dyson Award is now open! This year marks the 15th anniversary in empowering the next generation of engineers to solve the problems that will impact their future.

Last year, Dyson had received many brilliant inventions, including Malaysia’s James Dyson Award national winner SENSLAR, who looked into solving the problem of inefficient solar energy capturing with its smart sensitive solar floating platform. Who will be the next winners of 2019?

This James Dyson Award runs in 27 countries that is open to university level students studying product design, industrial design and engineering. The award encourages ideas that challenge convention, lean engineering – less is more, and design with the environment in mind. The best inventions are simple and practical yet provide a solution to a real world problem. A national winner is selected for every country the award runs in, before going through to the final phase where the international winner is chosen by James Dyson.
