As the complexity and sophistication of computer systems evolve, the demand for intelligent advanced applications also increases in proportion. The three-year programme under the Faculty of Science and Technology is executed to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills required in providing the much needed intelligent computer systems for the ever evolving industry. Students will initially be exposed to the core components such as Computer Architecture and Organisation, Data Communications and Networking, Computer Programming, Object Oriented Programming, Data Structures and Algorithms, Discrete Mathematics and Probability, Database Systems, Systems Analysis and Design, Mathematical Techniques and Operating Systems.

Based on the solid foundations of Computer Science and Information Technology, the programme then covers the traditional grounds of artificial intelligence with emphasis on subjects such as:

In a nutshell, the programme is designed to enrich the students knowledge and carry a systematic approach in developing intelligent agents that are able to perceive their environment, make decisions and take actions.

Moving ahead with the programme, students will undergo an industrial training to equip them with a good field experience as part of the learning curve. Potential career prospects include Computer Scientist, Knowledge Engineer, Software Engineer, Systems Analyses stand Programmer

Entry Requirements

Either of the following:
    • Pass Foundation  in related field from a recognised institution, and a credit in Mathematics at O Level or its equivalent
    • Pass A Level or its equivalent with 3 principals inclusive of Mathematics and a credit in Mathematics at O Level or its equivalent
    • Pass Diploma in a related field from a recognised institution with minimum CGPA 2.50 and a credit in Mathematics at O Level or its equivalent
    • Pass any other Diploma in science and technology or business studies from recognized institution with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 and a credit in Mathematics at O Level or its equivalent may be admitted subject to a rigorous internal assessment process.

AND

    • A minimum score of 5.5 for IELTS or its equivalent

Note: *Candidates with CGPA below 2.50 but above 2.00 may be admitted subject to a rigorous internal assessment process.

Either of the following:
  • Pass Foundation / Matriculation in related field from a recognised institution, and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent
  • Pass STPM / A Level or its equivalent with 3 principals inclusive of Mathematics and a credit in Mathematics at SPM Level or its equivalent
  • Pass UEC with minimum of grade B in a least five (5) subjects inclusive of Mathematics and English
  • Pass Diploma in a related field from a recognised institution with minimum CGPA 2.50 and a credit in Mathematics at SPM Level or its equivalent
  • Pass any other Diploma in science and technology or business studies from recognized institution with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 and a credit in Mathematics at SPM Level or its equivalent may be admitted subject to a rigorous internal assessment process.
