What is Loan Subsidy and do I entitled for it ?
Loan subsidy refers to a portion of interest amount subsidized by MMU for the housing and car loan made by the staff. All permanent and confirmed staff with excellent performance will be entitled to enjoy the subsidy. The maximum entitlement to be covered is :

To what extend will the University subsidize my loan ?
Housing Loan : The interest rate plus Based Lending Rate (BLR) for your housing loan must exceed 6.00% per annum. The minimum interest rate that you have to cover is 6.00% per annum. MMU will subsidize the difference of the interest rate only (up to the maximum of 6.00% per annum). For example, your housing loan interest rate + BLR is 7.5% per annum. Since the minimum rate that you have to cover is 6.00%, MMU will subsidize the difference of 1.75% per annum.
Car Loan : MMU will subsidize 2% of the interest or the interest rate charged, whichever is lower. For example, you car loan interest rate is 1.95% per annum. Since, the interest is below 2%, MMU will subsidize the charged interest rate of 1.95% per annum.
How do I send my application form ?
You must send the application form together with the required supporting document to the Human Capital Management Division.
How long will it take to process my application ?
If you have prepared all the required documents, it will take us less than a month to process your application.
How to claim the subsidy after getting the approval ?
Complete the claim form which is available on the Intranet and send the form and the receipt to us not later than the 15th of the month. The subsidized amount will be credited into your salary.
Is there any possibility that my applications will be rejected or will not be processed ?

I went to the non-panel clinic, can I claim the medical expenses ?
You can claim the medical expenses by completing the Medical Claim form which is available on the Intranet (http://intranet/2005/) send it to Human Capital Management Division for the purpose of submission to PMCare.
I went to the specialist without going to the panel clinic first, can I claim the medical expenses ?
You can claim but the University will only reimburse half of the medical expenses since you were not referred to the specialist by the panel doctor.
I am a new staff. I want to get the medical treatment from the University’s panel clinic. How do I go about it ?
HCM will forward your particulars to PMCare for medical card issuance. While waiting for the card to be issued out, you may visit the PMCare panel doctors and claim for the expenses.
I am a contract staff. Will the University cover my dependant’s medical treatment ?
Please refer to your appointment letter or employment agreement for your medical coverage.
What is my hospital room entitlement if I were to be hospitalized ?

I already have four children when I joined the University. Am I eligible for maternity benefit ?
No. You are not entitled for it since you already have four surviving children before joining the University.
Am I entitled for any dental treatment?
Only permanent non-executive staff members are entitled for the dental treatment benefit of RM 100.00 per annum. This benefit does not include cosmetic improvement.
Am I entitled for the professional membership fees reimbursement ?
All MMU staffs are entitled to the professional membership fees reimbursement. Each staff is entitled to two memberships per annum.
Where do I get the form?
There is no form for this claim. Just send a letter and receipt of payment to the Human Capital Management Division.
Is there any maximum amount that I can claim ?

How long will it take for HRD to process the claim and what is the mode of payment ?
Claim will be processed in not more than two weeks time and it will be credited into the staff’s salary.

I am a new staff. Can I apply for leave immediately after reporting for duty ?
You can only apply leave one month after reporting for duty.
How do I apply for my leave ?
You can apply for the annual leave, emergency leave, medical leave and unrecorded leave through the Online System (http://onlinecyber/main/index.jsp)
For other leave, you have to apply manually by completing the manual form which is available on the Intranet (http://intranet/2005/)
How many of my annual leave balance can I carry forward ?
You can carry forward half of your annual leave balance.
How do I get confirmed?
You can be confirmed provided that you have fulfilled all confirmation requirements as stated in your offer letter.
How do I get the form?
After one year of being a permanent staff, the Human Capital Management Division will send the form directly to your Head of Department.
How long will it take to process my confirmation ?
Provided that all confirmation requirements have been fulfilled, it will take not later than a month for it to be processed.
When can I know the result of my confirmation status ?
The Human Capital Management Division will notify you through a letter which will be sent to you within one week from the date of the confirmation committee meeting.

Normal Working Days and Special Saturdays :
1.5 X Employees hourly rate of pay
Rest Day :
If does not exceed half his normal hours of work, wages equivalent to half (1/2) the ordinary rate of pay for work done on that day; or
If more than half (1/2) but which does not exceed his normal hours of work, one day’s wages at the ordinary rate of pay for work done on that day;
If exceeds the normal hours of work, shall be paid at a rate which is not less than two times his hourly rate of pay.
Public Holidays :

What is the effective date for my annual increment ?

Am I eligible for this year’s increment ?
You have to report for duty or appointed to a new post or change the job status before or on 30 June of the year to be entitled for this increment on pro-rata basis from the date you reported for duty or the date of the new appointment.
What is the minimum salary to be taxed ?
RM 2,401.00 after the EPF deduction for the :
RM 3,101.00 after the epf deduction for male staff whose wife is not working.

Where to get the copy of my previous year EA form ?
You can get from Human Capital Management Division. You have to pay RM 2.00 for the copy of the EA, or RM 5.00 for the original copy to Finance Division. Produce copy of the receipt to Human Capital Management Division to get the form.
What is my tax number ?
You can call or go the tax office in Melaka to get the number by producing the IC number or contact Human Capital Management Division for assistance.
How is my EPF contribution being calculated ?
