PROGRAMMES OFFERED

Multimedia University (MMU) offers three categories of postgraduate programmes:

1. Structure A - Masters and PhD Programmes by Research
2. Structure B - Masters and Doctoral Programmes by Coursework and Dissertation
3. Structure C - Masters Programme by Coursework

A. Masters and PhD Programmes by Research

A candidate must conduct research under the supervision of the academic staff and submit a thesis for the fulfillment of the graduation requirements. In addition, he must register for and pass subject(s) as required by the respective Faculty.

B. Masters and Doctoral Programmes by Coursework and Dissertation

A candidate must register and pass a prescribed number of taught subjects. In addition, he must conduct research under the supervision of the academic staff and submit a dissertation fulfillment of the graduation requirements. The contribution of the coursework component shall be approximately 40%-70%.

C. Masters Programme by Coursework

A candidate must register and pass a prescribed number of taught subjects. In addition, he must complete a project under the supervision of the academic staff and submit a project for the fulfillment of the graduation requirements. The contribution of the coursework component shall be approximately 70% and above.

• Faculty of Engineering (FOE)
• Faculty of Engineering & Technology (FET)
• Faculty of Information Technology (FIT)
• Faculty of Information Science & Technology (FIST)
• Faculty of Management (FOM)
• Faculty of Business and Law (FBL)
• Faculty of Creative Multimedia (FCM)

MODE OF STUDY

A candidate is required to spend a stipulated amount of time at the University. He should have face-to-face consultations and regular contacts with his supervisor(s). He must be familiar with University facilities, resources and regulations.

The following is the residential requirement for full-time and part-time candidates.

DURATION OF STUDY

A candidate shall complete the postgraduate programme within the minimum and maximum years as shown in table below.
