MANAGEMENT OF CASH FLOW
A function of Treasury Unit is to monitor the cash flow on the University. MMU has about 4 types of accounts. Our main current account is with Bumiputra-Commerce Bank (BCB) Berhad, whereas we have also maintained our current account in Affin Bank Berhad and Maybank Berhad.
Collection Account
MMU maintain two (2) Collection Accounts, which are for Cyberjaya Campus and Melaka Campus. Both current accounts are maintained with BCB.
The purpose of this type of account is to receive all types of payment made by the external parties into MMU account, such as payment of fees by students, payment of vendor registration fees, payment of summon and so forth.
Payment Account
MMU maintain two (2) Payment Accounts, which are for Cyberjaya Campus and Melaka Campus. The accounts are maintained with BCB and Affin Bank.
The purpose of this type of account is to make all types of payment for the external parties, such as payment for vendor/contractor, payment for claim made by staff/student, payment for authorities (IRB, Custom etc) and so forth.
Student Trust Fund (STF) Account
MMU maintain one (1) STF Account, which are to be used for Cyberjaya Campus and Melaka Campus. The account is maintained with BCB.
The purpose of this type of account is to receive payment made by students for STF and sponsors (for students' activities), as well as the payment made to related parties.
Business Unit Account
MMU maintain two (2) Business Unit Accounts, which are for Cyberjaya Campus and Melaka Campus. The accounts are maintained with BCB and Affin Bank.
The purpose of this type of account is for all related transactions made by Business Unit for Bookshop, either receives payment on the goods sold, or payment to the vendors.
Internet Banking
MMU maintain one (1) Internet Banking Accounts, which is for both Cyberjaya and Melaka Campus. The accounts are maintained with Maybank Bhd, through its Maybank2U.com.
The purpose of this type of account generally is to receive payment made by students for fees.
RISK MANAGEMENT
Other than treasury functions, Treasury Unit is also responsible as a Risk Coordinator for MMU. Together with the implementation of Balance Score Card (BSC) of MMU, all risks have to be identified and managed according to the BSC.
MONEY MARKET TRANSACTIONS
Another function of Treasury Unit is as a dealer for money market transactions. MMU has invested the excess money in term of Fixed Deposit to several Islamic Banks such as:
Bank Kerjasama Rakyat Malaysia Bhd
Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd
Bank Pertanian Malaysia Bhd
Hong Leong Islamic Bank Bhd
Other than the above banks, MMU has also the Fixed Deposit Accounts with Bumiputra Commerce Bank Bhd, as well as Affin Bank Bhd.
