ID Students Win at Philips Young Inventors' Challenge

Two Interface Design Department students proudly walked away with the "Best Appealing Design Awards" and the overall "Third Prize" at the recent Philips Young Inventors' Challenge (PYIC) awards ceremony. This year, the PYIC event looked at a theme comprising of Philips' latest LED modules. Contestants had to propose innovative and creative use of these LED modules. Subsequently, all shortlisted teams were required to fabricate working prototypes of their final designs. Philips Malaysia was generous to contribute seed funds to all shortlisted teams for the creation of their prototypes. The final round of presentations and the judging of the prototypes was held at the Le Meridien Hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

The Interface Design Department at the Faculty of Creative Multimedia, Multimedia University submitted over 20 proposals in this year's PYIC event. Three shortlisted teams proudly represented the University in the final rounds. The three shortlisted teams include Cik Sherina Fauzi, Cik Syarmeira Salleh, Cik Aliya Nazlan, En. Mohd. Adli Hassan, En. Abdil Adzim and En.Abdul Muaiz Azman. The staff who supervised these six participants are lecturers Mr. Anthony Wong and Mr. Khong Chee Weng (Head of Department).
